Matchball sponsorship
Still for only £20, you can sponsor the match ball and your name will be printed in the match-day programme as an official sponsor throughout the season. For at least one game of the season, you will have your name as the official sponsor of that day and your name will be printed on the front of that day's match-day programme. Let either JT or Richard Parry know if you wish to sponsor a match ball a.s.a.p.
Thanks again.

Holyhead Hotspur Stadium's 'Wall of Honour'Thought has been given to utilising the new turnstile entrance block as a 'Wall of Honour', for fans and friends of not just the club, but of sport and community spirit in Holyhead. We are planning on adorning the new structure with brass wall plaques which can be engraved to display your name and details, honour a loved one, etc, etc. The as yet unnamed feature will make a striking entrance to the New Stadium and your name or that of your loved ones will be on display outside the club turnstiles for all to see. This may also appeal to sponsors too who may wish to advertise their support for the club just the same as the supporters would. Names will be clearly visible by every person entering The New Stadium and will be a lasting memento of your support of the Club for many generations to come. Each plaque (5 inches by 2 inches) can be inscribed with up to 5 lines of text that is deep engraved and then black in-filled. This is all computer engraved so the text is crisp and clear. A superb memento or gift at such an exciting time in the clubs history. The cost of a plaque will be £25.00 which includes engraving. For further information or to place an order, please contact JT or Richard Parry. It is intended to purchase these plaques in bigger lots than the odd one to keep the cost down so could anybody interested let us know a.s.a.p. so we can gauge interest and have the wall ready by the beginning of the season. Thanks.

HOLYHEAD HOTSPUR 3 ATHERTON COLLIERIES 2
PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY
REASONABLY satisfied with a useful pre-season runout against North West Counties Division One outfit Atherton Collieries, Holyhead manager Campbell Harrison may still haul his players over the coals after they let slip a two-goal lead.
The New Stadium hosts responded well, though, with substitute Curt Williams sidefooting in a deserved winner just after the hour.
After a late start due to an accident which delayed the visitors’ coach, the Harbourmen caught the Greater Manchester side napping when they nearly scored from their first attack following a dangerous cross by Mike Edwards.
In a follow-up raid, Dean Garmey flashed an effort into the side netting before Atherton fashioned their first real chance on 18 minutes.
Richard Sharp broke clear but lacked a cutting edge in front of goal and lofted a hurried shot over keeper Liam Shanahan’s bar.
With the game becoming scrappy because of the difficult, blustery wind, Hotspur continued to pose a greater attacking threat with Kenleigh (KC) Owen and Marc Evans going close before they made the breakthrough on 27 minutes.
Picking up possession down the right after a surging run by Owen, Ian Williams cut inside leaving defenders in his wake to drill a cool finish under advancing keeper Gavin Bates.
The visitors tried to get back into it immediately but David Holt was pulled up for offside when seemingly through.
And they found themselves further behind on 35 minutes, Marc Evans beating Bates who raced off his line, the ball just having enough on it to find the back of the net.
Williams should have made it three when he was released by Edwards but lost out in a one- on-one with Bates and that miss proved costly when the visitors pulled one back on the stroke of half time, Andy Walker’s header catching the wind and beating Shanahan who was rooted to the spot.
And there was still time for Dave Conlon to steer a header just wide as Atherton finished the half on a high.
The Collieries continued to impress after the turnaround with Holt threatening an equaliser with his head before they drew level on 51 minutes, Josh Stott given far too much space to curl a stunning 25-yarder past Shanahan.
Credit to the hosts they stepped on the gas again with good efforts by Evans and Ian Williams before Curt Williams struck the winner.
Hotspur: Shanahan, Dumbarton, G Jones, Kelly (c), Newell, M W Jones, Dean Garmey, Owen, I Williams, Evans, M Edwards. Subs: Dean Garmey, C Williams, Matthews.

20 August 2008 - Editorial - BALA 2008/09
Well, here we are again as the close season seems to get shorter every year and a big welcome back to you all for our first Cymru Alliance home game of 2008/09.
‘Croeso’ also to attractive visitors Bala Town who if recent times are anything to go by will provide a stern examination of our team this afternoon and will no doubt be among the front runners at the end of the season.
An encouraging pre-season also see’s additions to the first team squad in Lee Webber the very experienced centre back from Bangor City, Mark Wyn Jones ex Ruthin Town and also on the books of Llangefni Town last season, Jonathan Newell ex Llanrug United and ‘local boy’ Kenleigh ‘KC’ Owen who has returned to the fold following a ‘trainee’ couple of years at Boundary Park with 1st division Oldham Athletic. Dave Cashman who is also tied to TNS has been involved with early season friendlies. A big welcome is extended to all, and hope it will be a successful time at the club.
The first team were unbeaten in all their pre-season games against a Tranmere Rovers XI, Atherton Collieries, Porthmadog, and Ashton Town but at the end of the day they are still only ‘friendlies’, however we look at it.
The new season got off to a real kick in the teeth, wakeup call whatever, at Lex XI last Saturday in a 5 goal drubbing by the Wrexham based side which in all honestly could have been much worse as the team never got off the bus, never mind out of the dressing room, leaving Campbell Harrison and Mark Williams non-plussed and embarrassed by the performance! Most of the Lex side made up the Brymbo XI who were champions of Welsh National League (Wrexham area) last season, and in striker Kieron Jones a real handful up front, however this did not excuse such a pitiful display and no doubt Campbell will have demanded a massive improvement in Tuesday’s local derby at Llangefni Town. Having said that Lex look a useful outfit and may surprise a few teams this season!
The massive improvement duly arrived to overcome the nightmare opening game with an excellent three points against our Ynys Mon rivals. After weathering early pressure from the home side the lads took control with a goal in each half from Kenleigh KC Owen and Marc Evans to continue the recent run of wins against Llangefni and to put us in the right frame of mind before today’s mouth watering encounter.
We have a talented bunch of players here at Holyhead under an ambitious management team, but as a leading manager in the premiership was quoted as saying recently “The difference between players is not always the quality but their mentality”! Need one say more?

It is the ONLY PLACE to be tonight if you live on Anglesey So get down there just before 7:30pm

There is only one team in the Cymru Alliance league, as for the others they are lower leagues and even they do well each season. As for players not wanting to travel away thats something from the past i've not seen it with HHFC in the last 3 seasons.
