I was sceptical about the idea of a modern day Sherlock.  I watched it rather by accident than plan and I was delighted.  The two lead characters were brilliantly played.  The delivery of the lines at speed made by Sherlock was breathtaking.  Very occasionally old tales can be successfully lifted into a modern context.  It is rare but I think this was an example of success.  The only other one I can recall is Martin Clunes's revival of Reggie Perrin.

"Jekyll" with James Nesbitt was quite good too.

I missed Sherlock but am planning on downloading it soon Smiley

Woooooooo I didn't enjoy the Martin Clunes Reggie Perin at all Mab.  The only good thing in it was the lady that he fancied.  Personally I just don't think that it had anything extra to offer from the original which was superb.

Wils, Jen off of Milkshake is my fave and RB likes the bloke on it and we argue who is the best (Dad is always right though yeah).

LLainy, you know along London Road where there is a place for artics to park, and next to that is a church, then there is a wee lane and then a row of houses that are a bit set back with a set of railings in front of them.  Well go down that wee lane and that is Canida Gardens which has nothing to do with a duck thinking that it is a Canida Goose.

Many thanks Rascal...however.......... I got lost after that bit with a wee lane in it..... maybe it's because I'm from the shadow of the mountain.

Anyway, 3 cheers for Cod for having the good sense to not involve himself with any thread started by or involving Llaingoch (the character not the place).

I am very easily confused Shell........ do I therefore win ??

Last summer.  Gwynedd shipping were responsible (apparently) so they could have better access.

Llainy, of course you can have the .  You will get confused and forget I said so, though, won't you?

I thought it was alright ... until I realised he didn't deduce anything that would lead to the conclusion, the killer picked him up in his taxi, the office bloke murdered the suicidal tablet man. Very DrWho really. Lazy. London folk obviously.

He would have found the taxi driver by the phone tracker thing anyway but Moriaty wanted him to take the Pepsi challenge with the supository.  It was a bit of a strach to go about killing the ace detective when Moriaty could have hired someone to happy slap Holmes and then chib him in the back by a gang of youths with asbos, on BMXs.

The former should have helped with the latter Smiley

I am just getting into this now, a bit late I know but you can bet your bottom dollar that they won't be repeated on telly now that I have started to laugh and enjoy The IT Crowd.  Last night a character in it called Moz was in court and in the dock, and his reaction to being asked what his name was, was hilarious and I have been chuckling about it at random times throught the day today.  At one point he called the judge 'My love.'

We've been watching the IT-crowd since it began : disturbingly funny.
That bit with Moss in the dock had me laughing out loud ... so cringey.
I like "The Shoes" episode the best though ... and the tranny/internet one. That's not about an internet tranny by the way.

Anybody watching Southland (?) : a meandering badly-filmed murkin cop show mistakenly compared to "The Wire" by muppets who don't know better.
I quite liked it. I liked all the shooting mexicans bit, cos they were baddy mexicans, not like in the Magnificent 7 where some of them were goody mexicans.

FLIPPIN BRILLIANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The other week when the most boring games of football were on during the most boring world plop, one of the commentators were on and I said to The Present Mrs. Rascal and The Salmon, 'He used to be the voice on Robot Wars'.  The Present Mrs. Rascal asked, was it?  And The Salmon listened carefully and agreed that it was.  The Salmon and myself then had a conversation about how good Robot Wars was and which one was our fave robots.  Mine was Hypnodisk, especially when it blasted Mattilda to pieces.

Anyway, The Present Mrs. Rascal and Rascal Bach were having their home made peetsas this evening and I was going to have my tea later because I didn't want it before circuit training.  This meant whilst the other two were scoffing tea, I had use of the remote control.  I remember that I once had use of it before a few years ago and it wasn't to difficult to press the up and down button to change channel.  The down button changed the channels until, low and behold ROBOT WARS was on.  SUPERB!

Rascal Bach and The Present Mrs. Rascal came through to the front room and they too started watching telly excellence.  The Present Mrs. Rascal can't stand it and Rascal Bach also said that it was a load of rubbish, it's only robots, she announced.  Then she started asking who was who and what was going on.  she started to get right into it, especially when one of the robots had a feather duster for a tail which came flying off.  Then when they started flipping eachother over and setting them on fire, she was getting well excited.

We watched it until the last fight was over and then I had a mad rush to get my kit ready for training.  As I was about to go out, I said to Rascal Bach, I thought you said it was a load of rubbish and it's only robots.  She looked sheepish and had no answer because even at six years old, she can recognise tremendous telly when she sees it.  another convert, a job well done.
