Thanks you lot!

Hemorrhoids is names so because his real name is Emery and this somehow mutated into Hemorrhoids.  He doesn't enter competitions now because he tore some ligaments from doing too much, he ran something like four marathons in a month and then ran down the Wrekin like an idiot and tore something.  He still goes out but nowhere near to what he used to do.

Yesterday we did an eight mile run at quite a good pace considering we pushed it the day before.

Today we did a 12 mile run from home, to the Wrekin, around the base on the Permissive path, up to the top and back home.  It was slower than usual but Michael was feeling it after his PB and the eight yesterday.  He usually has this day off but it was really good that even though his legs were heavy he still managed to do the full 12 miles.  This sort of training will come in useful for when we are tired at 24/25/26 miles on the marathon in April.

Our usual Wednesday evening shuffle was cancelled because the lads wanted to get together at 11am and do, what I was told, a really light run for about 1/2 and hour and then go to the pub for a couple.

I arrived at the cricket club before 11 and got changed and saw a couple of other runners there.  I asked them if they were here to run with Fincham and they certainly were.  When Jonsey got there he said that Fincham wasn't running because he had the flu and suggested going around the Wrekin.  I thought that was a bit further than I expected but didn't say anything and they shot off at one hell of a pace and it is all up hill the way they went.

By the time we got to the Wrekin I was feeling it in my legs but they bounded off up the incline like some erratic gazzell.  Rather then they go the normal route around, they went down, down, down the long way around.  This meant that it was up, up, up at the other side.

This was probably the hardest, fastest eight miles I have done all year.  So much for a light 1/2 hour run!

Well I had three days off in the end Shell.  The running resumed on the Wednesday, New Years Eve.  We went out early because people wanted to get ready to go out.  We went out and I usually go round twice and do 10 miles on a Wednesday but it was freezing, so it was a quick five miles and home.

Nobody was up for anything on the 1st so on the 2nd I pushed the pace and we did a quick eight on the flat.

Saturday 3rd, swimming training resumed and it was a very hard session and that wasn't just me saying it. 1.5 hrs swim.

Today we did 13 miles, because of the ice we didn't go to the top of the Wrekin but doubled back down to the very bottom of the Wrekin and past the Scout hut.

Later the Present Mrs. Rascal, Rascal Bach, the spaniel and yours truly went for an hours walk on the Wrekin (WW points for the Present Mrs. Rascal).

Well pawb, I have just stood on the scales and discovered that I have gained about 5 pounds of fat over the Christmas season. Today I was back at the gym trying to work out a bit harder and also do more sit-ups !. I am actually quite relieved that the rich food and glasses of wine, sherry, port and beer have stopped as I was also beginning to get heartburn.

How many pounds have you gained over Christmas ?... come on don't be shy !. We can help each other to fight off those extra pounds !...  Wink

If your waistbands are too tight yeah, avoid going to the gym and that by simply rearranging your belt to the next hole on the left.

I joined a Diet club yesterday and when I stood on the scales I was shocked how much I weighed, I haven't weighed myself in over six months and have put on a few pounds. They are a really nice crowd of people there and encourage each other.

Needless to say the diet  started yesterday and I walked for an hour today over snow and ice and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I will let you know if I lose any weight by next week, I certainly hope so........

The easiest way to look thinner is to stand next to a person that's fatter than you.

Vic Reeves had a massive black board strapped to his back, he was in his undies and parts of him were blacked out with felt tip.  It works too, it really makes you look slimmer.
