We had a leaflet through the door this week soliciting information, so I guess some effort is being attempted at resolving the case

Yes us aswell i hope that with new DNA and advances in technology that maybe the killer or killers can be put behind bars and case closed.

Just watched the reconstruction on Crimewatch on this nasty and  seemingly pointless murder. I pray that someone will come forward with enough evidence to send the perpetrator(S) for a very long time! Angry

....and remember, if you do know something you will be protected. Please have the courage, decency and respect to help put these murderers away. An innocent old lady was cruelly killed by faceless, violent criminals. How would you feel if it was your Mam, your Nain, your Aunty?

...if you know something - say something.

HELP.

The police officer on Crimewatch seemed to be convinced that the solving of this horrible crime is just a short step away.  The large reward may tempt someone to speak up and that will be the key to arrests being made.  Let's hope the cruel, spineless, mindless people who killed Mrs. Morris are soon found, tried, convicted and imprisoned for a very long time.

Yes indeed, Mab Y Mynydd! Noticed a hive of activity on Facebook as someone has started a Justice for Doreen Morrris site. Few cross people here in Holyhead! Undecided

It seems they can, with new evidence.

Yes you can now -

Double jeopardy is a procedural defense that forbids a defendant  from being tried twice for the same crime on the same set of facts BUT IT'S CHANGED -

Following the murder of Stephen Lawrence, the MacPherson Report suggested that double jeopardy should be abrogated where "fresh and viable" new evidence came to light, and the Law Commission recommended in 2001 that it should be possible to subject an acquitted murder suspect to a second trial. The Parliament of the United Kingdom implemented these recommendations by passing the Criminal Justice Act 2003

The law change only applies to England and Wales

Thanks Ben 10 but methinks a little too profound for a simple bunny like me!lol. Its such a shame that there's finger pointing and squabbles as tension is high after the Crimewatch programme. I sincerely hope an honest witness will step forward in order to allow Mrs Morris to rest in peace and to allow closure for her children.

"North Wales Police say they have had a good response to a Crimewatch appeal over the unsolved murder of a woman 16 years ago.
...
Detectives said the same names came up a number of times in calls following the television appeal on Wednesday."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/north_west/8653014.stm

Lets hope they have enough info to bring justice finally for this terrible murder.

I read yesterday that Doreen Morris' Daughter has lost her appeal to have "Unlawful Killing" put her her Mother's death Certificate. I feel it for her! Wish I could do something to help as she must be feeling very frustrated. Not only this setback but  that her precious Mother's killer is still at large. It looks as if the murderer will never be punished!  Cry
