I bought four lead figurines, dated somewhere between 1880 and 1910. They are German made and they are from a set of brass band players, they are in good condition for the age.

As for truck drivers - the second night thing mentioned above, that is an EU thing - a farce we won't be a member of for much longer so it won't apply in the UK.

Assuming only UK truckers will be driving in the UK. Or do "the movement" intend to prohibit movement of foreign freight and transport companies?

Premier Inn provide a standardised product of good quality at a reasonable price.  Their eating and drinking facilities are open to non-residents and all the deals apply to non-residents as well.   Breakfasts are one child eats free for every paying adult and are help yourself, unlimited.  The bars are well stocked, with a wide range of drinks at very reasonable prices.   The menu is very good quality for the price they ask.  I can see both Road King and Standing Stones come under severe pressure from day one.

They also pay higher than other similar businesses locally - which means local B&Bs will either have to put their wages up or lose their best staff.

There is a move afoot to make tramping drivers having a second continuous night away to use a proper hotel instead of a sleeper cab, so might work. On the other hand, B&Bs could also benefit as Premier Inns aren't exactly the cheapest.

Good news.

Some truckers will use them but a lot don't get accomodation costs, so I guess it depends on the company. Hubs has to park their lorry in secured overnight parking and they get hotel costs, so he will. Next time he's in HH anyway....

Premier Inn are coming to Holyhead.

http://www.dailypost.co.uk/business/business-news/premier-inn-hotel-been-given-13844879

I for one am happy to hear this as I have stayed in many PIs and have found most of them to be excellent.

If Mrs Baz chucks me out for overpunning then at least I have somewhere to stay that has a comfy bed.

Do you think the truckers will use them ? the hotel will be opposite Roadkill.
