Happy Birthday, Porty!  Are you going out for a pint?

I've been here, waiting, for ages.

I walked back into the house at the 80th minute, I froze to the spot as England attempted the try, what a moment what a finish.  :D

England provided a very stern test but Wales were too good.  The way they played during the ten minutes when Rhys Priestland was off was magnificent.  The back row of Lydiate, Faletau and Warburton is world class.  They were amazing on Saturday.

WELL DONE MY BRAVE BOYS!

Absolutely fantastic, I was on the edge of my seat for the last few minutes! Great stuff indeed!
Now they just need to leave Priestland on the side lines, too many mistakes.
Hope I get to see the remaining matches.

A bit late for today (sorry I've just logged on), but a couple of loosely connected "Today is"s I thought I would share.

Today marks the death in 1961 of ukelele toting singer George (turned out nice again) Formby. The 'loose connection'? Of all the people on this site, I don't think anybody else will know that George Formby's old red living room carpet (which was like new) found a new home in a small bungelow in Trearddur Bay. Unfortunately it's gone now.

On a more serious note, it also marks the 25th anniversary of the sad of the loss of 188 persons when the "Herald of Free Enterprise" capsized shortly after leaving Zeebruge in Belgium.

I remember the ferry going over, that was truly awful. Didn't the bow doors fail to close?
Still terrible for all the families after 25 years.

100 years ago today, a rather grand ship set sail from Southampton on her maiden voyage to New York. She was at the time, the largest vessel ever buit and described as "Unsinkable".
