The King is Dead!
« on: Wednesday 24 June 2015, 2134 »
Sorry, I know the title's a bit cryptic, I just couldn't think of anything better.

I am of course talking about the old faithful Sea-kings, and their operators, 22 Sqn RAF Valley. After clocking up their 10,000th rescue in April, the RAF is passing control to a an American civilian operator. The base is also moving to Caernarfon.

In detail....

Junno yeah, this reminded me of the time in about 1991 when I was a volunteer on the mountain rescue team and the sea kings squadron at RAF leuchars in Fife was disbanded. Because we did so much work with them during rescues, a few of us went up to see the guys and wish them all the best. They had a bit of a ceremony and a piper played as they towed the last copter away.
IT IS RASCALS BIRTHDAY BEFORE MONKEY FIDDLERS!!! STILL!!!
Oooh, it's all "Wils, Wils, Wils!"
Rascal bach, you have no idea how hard I'm laughing at your last post.  You are so funny.
I think Rascal should apologise for Wils - seriously!
