In A Town Not So Long Ago
« on: Sunday 11 March 2018, 1914 »
Just found this on YouTube, apparently added a month or so ago....

Shows much of Holyhead in the 80's, from Penrhos Nature Reserve, through town to the Port and Breakwater. Even runs out onto Salt Island and down the Tinto Jetty. Very jumpy in many places, and sound ranging from non-existant to pure mush, but what nostalgia!

Mum! Dad! Wheres my breakfast gone? And who's that blonde tart in my bed?

Yeah, the first bit is terrible - as are a few other sections, but some of it is OK.

Fascinating ...

(I tried to locate Domo Kun's hand-held videos of HH from 2006 (gulp ... ) but without success.)

Aye, I remember them. I think Cod had to take out the video section when he did some re-organisation.

- Although Wils did some mucking about as well - which is where the "Ignore this thread" came from (but I don't know that as I'm ignoring it).

Oh Wow!! I would have been 6 month preggers in June 88. I did spot Dick Manta (God rest him) and Dimmo strutting through town. Wasn't able to make more out but that might have been my little brother with his feral gang of unruly marine cadets outside Woollies.

2 things came to mind - how very busy it was and ...scared that they were driving on the wrong side of the road...but then I realised (Duh!!)
And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.

Watched this recently, loved it saw my Mam jangling, what a busy place town was, used to love it in the summer, everybody meeting up, it was buzzing, lucky if you see anyone you know these days they’re all in Tescos.
