That doesn’t leave many banks in town! Lloyds only I think. Anything else?

Closed and building for sale.  I think even the cashpoint has been removed?

People don't seem able to grasp fundementals.  Cash is dying.  I go weeks without using it.  Direct Debits, internet banking, tap 'n' go,  paypal, etc etc have made small branches a very very loss making part of a bank's business.  On your mobile phone you can pay Tescos at the tills, buy petrol, transfer money all over the world eyc etc

Some countries in Europe have plans to cease the use of cash in shops, for paying people or even to be able to pay it in or withdraw it in the next few years (Denmark is one).

It's progress and its caused by changes in the way you are behaving.

Not surprising, as you say Che. The only reason I use my bank branch is a). to bank a cheque that somebodys paid me with as they can't be bothered to learn internet banking, or b). to moan about something - but they don't listen anyway! "Sorry sir, we don't handle that here, you need to ring 0800 XXX YYY; press a load of buttons to try and find the department you need but doesn't exist anyway, wait about 20 minutes whilst we cream a percentage off your phone bill, and they might pretend to help you if its not tiffin time".

Apparently you can now bank a cheque at Lloyds by taking a picture with your phone and uploading it via the Lloyds application - if you can figure out how!

It's not only in thinly populated Wales that banks are closing branches.

Until recently I used branches of HSBC and Santander that were a hundred yards of one another in Clapham High Street. Both have closed.

It won't be long before bank branch closures will rival pub closures and your aversge high street will be dead.
Not waiting for the others.
